(Knoxville, TN) – June 26, 2018 – Kansas State University won the National Dairy Council’s annual New Product Competition by creating Quick-Quark, a creamy, German-style drinkable quark using our IdaPlus 1085. Teams had to do all the work that would be entailed in preparing a product for market including formulation, processing, packaging, pricing and marketing. This year’s winning team from K-state took home an $8,000 prize.
What was the most valuable thing the students learned from the competition?
“It takes long hours of hard work, good communication and great teamwork to take an innovative idea and make it into a product that can be easily commercialized,” said Yuda Ou, leader of the K-State winning team.
